Pieces of the Past

Pieces of the Past is a 5-piece metalcore band that has been aurally assaulting Albuquerque, NM since December. The band is comprised of two brothers, three cousins, two ex-members of a previous band, at least one video game enthusiast and 5 friends (don’t want to do the math? See below).

Despite Pieces of the Past members having grown up together and playing in previous bands together, the band’s name isn’t as clear-cut as it may seem. The name actually came from The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim. Noah came across it while playing the game, the rest of the band liked it…you get the idea.

The band members each bring different influences to the musical table but they feel like that strengthens and deepens their sound as a whole. Ultimately, their goal is to just create something fun that gets everyone pumped and primed to head bang. Typically Alex and Antonio start with lyrics then the rest of the band helps form a song around them. If you twist the guys’ arms, they suggest that they share musical likenesses with The Devil Wears Prada, The Word Alive, BMTH, Asking Alexandria, As I Lay Dying and Capture the Crown among others.
