Alright folks, let’s not pretend like anyone is surprised to read about the upcoming and brand-spanking-new Emmure album. Truth is, everyone has been rabidly salivating over this release for months and the time has finally come, Slave To The Game is here.
The 5th studio album by the Connecticut based, 5-man deathcore band. Aside from an EP in 2006, Emmure has released pretty much everything on Victory Records, which (somewhat impressively) only goes back to 2007. Which means that Emmure keeps pretty busy – 5 full-lengths in as many years.
Slave To The Game features 12 all new tracks and in true deathcore fashion, the entire album comes in at a total time of just short of 32 minutes. It is the first album to feature the band’s new drummer, Mark Castillo, and was produced by Joey Sturgis who also produce their previous album, Speaker of the Dead.
The new album’s song titles play tribute to an array of comic book and video game characters. For instance, the song “Protoman” is named after a character form the video game Mega-Man and “She Gave Her Heart to Deadpool” is a reference to Marvel comic book character, Deadpool.
Emmure is currently wrapping up some East Coast tour dates before heading over to Europe in June.
