Album: Our Home Is A Deathbed
Release Date: March 13th, 2012
Named after a Persian king who died in 465 BC, Xerxes is a 5-piece thrash band hailing from Louisville, KY who will royally tear your eardrums apart.
The band was formed in 2009. One year later, their debut release “Twins,” a 7-song 7” record came out on Mayfly Records and received overwhelmingly favorable reviews. Since then, Xerxes have dropped “Homeward carries No Direction,” a 2-song digital release and a split 7” with Midnight Souls.
“Our Home Is A Deathbed” is Xerxes’ first full-length effort and their first release on their new label, No Sleep. The 11-song album is a heavy, dark and energetic masterpiece that will ensure that Xerxes is a name you will see on many, many tour posters for years to come. They have an almost ghostly effect in their recording process. They manage to sound both hopeful and haunting at the same time. This is definitely one of those albums that will grow on you the more you listen to it.
“Our Home Is A Deathbed” comes out on March 13th and be on the lookout for supporting tour dates in the near future.
